Note: Steak velveted and rice started in advance.
Ingredients:
White Rice
~ 1lb Steak
Cornstarch
Rice Vinegar
~ ½lb Shishito Peppers
~ ½lb Button (Cremini) Muchrooms
2 sprigs of Thai Basil
Vegetable Oil
Soy Sauce
To Taste:
Salt
Black Pepper
Red Pepper Flakes (optional) MSG (optional)
Directions:
Make white rice following package's directions
While rice is cooking, slice the mushrooms, remove stems from shishitos, and chop the basil
Heat up vegetable oil in a wok
Add the velveted steak to the wok and cook to desired doneness
[It doesn't take long when it's cut thin]
Remove steak and set aside
Add shishitos to wok and cook till they have char spots
Remove shishitos and set aside
Add more oil and heat, then add mushrooms
Season the mushrooms with soy sauce
Once mushrooms are fully cooked, add shishitos and steak back to the wok
Add chopped basil and any other seasoning
Taste test and add any needed additional seasoning
Serve mixture over plain white rice
